Expecting from Guatemala

Welcome to Mari's page. We hope you will enjoy learning about our journey to Guatemala.
Kurt and I are very excited to meet our baby girl, Marissa.
We will try to keep you updated whenever there is news.
Please feel free to send us comments.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers!

If it seems slow, do not despair,
for these things will surely come to pass.
Just be patient!
They will not be overdue a single day.

9 months and then some...

I grabbed this from a fellow blogger because I believe it is so true!!
"Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; remember that what you have now was once among the things you hoped for."

At this point NOTHING is happening. Guatemala is closed and they are not accepting new cases until further notice. Everything happens for a reason. When the time comes we will be ready!
Nothing definite from the Central Authority (CNA). Unfortunately, the political will to get new cases started has not opened the door, yet. I am told that the CNA is working on the regulations governing foster licensing and care. This is very important and we are awaiting how they will permit attorneys and facilitators to resume caring for children, and, whether this will entitle the attorneys and facilitators to secure matches between children and families, after the dossiers are approved by the CNA.
So, we are enjoying our wonderful, busy, hot, crazy, on the run,
summer fun
camping

The Miracle of Adoption
"We witness a miracle every time a child enters into life. But those who make their journey home across time and miles, growing within the hearts of those who wait to love them, are carried on the wings of destiny and placed among us by God's very own hands."
