Expecting from Guatemala

Welcome to Mari's page. We hope you will enjoy learning about our journey to Guatemala.
Kurt and I are very excited to meet our baby girl, Marissa.
We will try to keep you updated whenever there is news.
Please feel free to send us comments.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers!

If it seems slow, do not despair,
for these things will surely come to pass.
Just be patient!
They will not be overdue a single day.

99% COMPLETE!!

Our agency has received all of our documents that were sent to the NY Consulate to be authenticated. Our marriage license had to go to the consulate in Atlanta and with yesterday being a holiday it is a day or two behind the others. Once she receives this last document our DOSSIER will be COMPLETE!!

Then it is sent to the Embassy in Guatemala. It will have to be translated and we will need to get a certificate from the Central Authority. We are unsure of how long this will take due to the new laws. But in any case we will be "in the mix".

WE ARE SO CLOSE!!!hello kitty

We have completed 7 out of 11 of our courses for our Orientation Certificate.
We are also waiting on our 171-H form but we will hand carry that document, along with our Orientation Certificate when we travel.

Please continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

Wow! Yeah! It's so crazy how we are exactly at the same step!!! Won't it be fun if our girls are the same age??? Thanks for the update and good luck! Heather :)

The Miracle of Adoption
"We witness a miracle every time a child enters into life. But those who make their journey home across time and miles, growing within the hearts of those who wait to love them, are carried on the wings of destiny and placed among us by God's very own hands."
